The Portrait Experience

Designing your Session

Before you spend any time in front of the camera, we’ll have a conversation about what to expect on the day of your session. We will discuss your goals for the photoshoot, including outfits you would like to bring along and any other ideas you have to make your session distinctive! I'll also take time to explain and show you some of my other product offerings.

Guided Photoshoot

Being in front of the camera can cause one to feel a little uncomfortable and rigid, but no need to worry! I'll guide you through the entire photoshoot, from placement of your hands to the tilt of your head so that the angles are flattering. However, it’s not all directed poses! Once you've gotten more comfortable and want to add in a little self expression to the session or just play in front of the lens a little, we can work together to achieve what you have in mind!

Multiple Looks

Time is built into your portrait session to allow for multiple wardrobe changes so you can have several different looks! At the Session Design we’ll talk about what you would like to wear (jeans and t-shirt, dresses, a school uniform and/or letterman jacket, shoes, accessories, etc.). Perhaps you’re a jeans and t-shirt kind of person, but you really want to bring along that ultra formal outfit that’s been sitting at the back of your closet for a while…this is the perfect opportunity to experiment!

Professional Editing

All images provided to you will be professionally retouched (includes blemish removal, skin softening, etc.). We can discuss any special requests you have at the "Designing your Session" stage.

Image Reveal

Two weeks after your portrait session, we will meet in person or via Zoom for you to choose your 40 images. Once your images have been chosen, they will be made available to you via a private online photo gallery. You may wonder "why not all the images?" and the simple answer is: quality over quantity!

You will also receive a complimentary 8x10 lay flat photo book showcasing the 40 images.
